Middle Academy Announcements

Attention FBLA members - our Regional Competition is just around the corner on Saturday December 14 at Cary High School.  All Study Materials for regional tests have been sent out.  Please check your email and google classroom to make sure you have everything you need.  We will meet on Friday November 1st at 8am in the spirit hall to schedule testing and review the conference details!

The MA Fall Dance called "A Night of Floating Lights"  will take place on Friday 11/01 from 6:00-8:30. All Middle Academy students are welcome to purchase tickets to attend. Dance tickets can also be purchased at the door for $10 the night of the dance. 

Students must be counted present for attendance the day of the dance in order to attend. Dress code is semi-formal or casual and only EWA students may attend. Please be sure to follow the dress code or you will be asked to call home to change. 

MASC members will be asked to set up for the dance afterschool on Friday 11/01; meet in Ms. Berry's room at the end of carpool. Please email Ms. Berry or Ms. Strickland if you cannot attend. 

There will be a Lost and Found “Yard, NO Sale” in Spirit Hall from Tuesday, October 29th through Friday, November 1st. This is a last attempt to get items back to their owners before donations. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the week. Students may come down to view items at designated times with teachers’ permission.

Lost and Found 

Gym lost and found will be in a container in the dining hall. Building 5/WINGS lost items will be in a container at the desk by the front entrance.  Items lost in the main building will be located right outside the office. Students can come down BEFORE SCHOOL/HOMEROOM or DURING LUNCH. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each month.

Drop and Pick Up

No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.

When arriving for AA pickup in the afternoons, please arrive @3:45 and stay in the right lane closest to the building ONLY. 

Middle Academy Events

The Scholastic Book Fair is back on campus from Friday, October 25th through Friday, November 1st in Building 4 Media Center. Mrs. Barnhill has reserved before school for Middle School students, but you MUST get your teacher's permission before coming. You may also come during your lunchtime No food or drinks are allowed in the media center. Book bags must be left out against the wall in the hallway. This is only open to students! There are two Family Events. Saturday, October 26th from 4:30 to 6:30 and Tuesday, October 29th from 3:30 to 6:30. 

There is also an online fair that runs from October 23rd through November 3rd.  Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too! Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping. https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/eastwakeacademy1 If you would like to make a monetary donation to Atkinson Elementary School in western NC flooded during Helene and is relocating to another location until repairs can be done. To support their students and staff, the K-4 family is doing a book drive. Donations can be made by sending in children's books or by making a monetary donation at https://bit.ly/48eeAvw. 100% of funds collected in the eWallet link will be used to purchase books from the Book Fair that will be given to Atkinson ES.  No donation is too big or small, but each book is about $5 as a reference.  Also, please feel free to share the link with others who may want to contribute!  Donations will be accepted through Friday, November 1 at 9:00am.  

Please do not drop off students on campus in the morning before carpool. If you need to drop off earlier than 7:40, please utilize the morning WINGS service.

Middle School carpool in the afternoon does not begin until 3:15. If you arrive earlier you will be asked to go to the back of the line. Students are in class until their release time of 3:15.

Students, during carpool you are to be seated in your classroom watching the screen for your carpool number to come up. Students are not to be in the hallways, standing up within the classroom, but waiting for your number to be displayed. Parents are not to arrive before 3:20. Students are to only be dismissed by your teacher to head to carpool when you both see your number come up. Any students seen at carpool without permission or prior to release time will face disciplinary action. Thank you for following the rules that have been in place for your safety. 

Middle Academy Sports

When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance.  Do NOT enter the Middle School office unless checking out another student that is not playing sports.

When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game.  Students may not linger after school.

Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class.  They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
