Week of February 17, 2020: We have another short week this week! Please remember that we have no school on Monday! This is President’s Day and we all have a holiday.
Cold, Flu, and Everything – We have had a lot of flu cases, colds, and general sickness. You know your kids the best and if they are not feeling well, please get them checked. We have heard so many stories of kids with the flu and no fever. Or they start feeling bad with no fever and in three to four days, the fever spikes. Please take care of each other and if your child is sick – STAY home! This too will pass! Be strong – Spring is coming!
Soccer Shots – see attached flyer for Spring Class opportunities.
RAK CHALLENGE! Make kindness the norm. February 16-23 is Random Acts of Kindness Week. We would like to challenge our EWA students, staff and families to participate! Find ways to show an act of kindness in your home, school, and community. You can participate in the national movement by using the hashtag #RandomActsofKindnessWeek and participate in our own challenge #EWArakweek2020 on twitter! Are you needing ideas? Check out this great resource: RAK Ideas!
Track Out – we are four weeks to TO – stay focused and finish strong.
New Student Lottery – Our open lottery application period ended on Friday at noon. We had our largest applicant pool to date. This is exciting and sad at the same time. People are looking for an educational opportunity and East Wake Academy is high on their list (good news for the health of our school). The sad part is that so many people are looking for a choice and we cannot take everyone that has applied. In reality, if we could take all the applicants, we could open a totally new school the same size as EWA. That is amazing. The reason EWA is in demand is because of the educational opportunity we offer, great staff, great students and great families. Thanks again for all you do. We are asking, if you know that you are not going to return for next year, please let Mrs. Campbell know ASAP so we can allow someone that wants to get in to begin preparing for next year. This is a simple ask for a family that is waiting to be part of EWA. Thanks in advance!
