Thanks to EWA Board Member and Zebulon Fire Chief, Wayne Dupree for coming out today to talk to the 1st graders about fire safety, explain what a fireman does and show them his truck. This concluded their lesson on community helpers.

Our East Wake Academy Fun Run and Color Run kicks off today, and we are thrilled about this year’s program. Our school is raising funds for A New Gym Floor. JV and Varsity Volleyball both have HOME games tonight against Franklin Academy starting at 4:30. The EWA Cancer Awareness Club will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a gift basket! All proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Cancer Awareness Scholarship that will be awarded to and EWA student at the end of the year. *see the flyer for more information.

Mrs. Cyrus' 4th period Pre-College Dance Honors class got some great experience teaching Mrs. Pridgen's 1st graders in Mrs. Deitrick's Movement class. Collaboration between different grade levels is one of the many great things about being a K-12school!

Mrs. Dixon's 8th grade science class completed their first science lab about chemical changes. Students observed the chemical changes that happen when bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and white vinegar are mixed together. Students also blew up a balloon by using the gas that's released from a chemical reaction using basking soda and vinegar.

Lost and Found Updates Lost and found will no longer be on the website. There will be designated containers in each building including the Gym and WINGS (bldg. 5) to reclaim items. Students can reclaim items BEFORE SCHOOL/HOMEROOM or DURING LUNCH. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each month. Please make sure names are on all clothing, lunch boxes, gym bags and water bottles. *if you purchase used uniform, please make sure to update them with your child's name!
