Today in K-4 we celebrated our final character trait of the year, integrity. Congratulations to these students for always making the right choice even when no one is looking!
In what has become an annual tradition, First Grader’s have been busy creating their Tie-Dye shirts and class flags that we will sport on Field Day!

As a K-12 School, one of EWA's favorite traditions is the Kindergarten/Senior Walk.
I hope you enjoy this video of the class of 2024 and the class of 2036!

“Spanish 2 students from Mrs. Jones’s classroom taught elementary students a mini lesson in Spanish. Topics included were colors, numbers, and a fun song called “Los Pollitos Dicen.”
EWA staff are INSPIRING our students everyday!

More of our DEDICATED teachers!

East Wake Academy has been recognized as a Heart Safe School by Project Adam. In order to receive this distinction our campus has established and practiced a plan to respond to sudden cardiac arrest. EWA has an emergency crisis response team composed of staff that are CPR trained and have conducted simulation drills. Congratulations to Nurse Christy, Mr. Campbell and the team at EWA.
**Not all team members were present for the photo.

‘C’ is for Chopsticks! In 2nd grade ELA, we’ve been reading and learning interesting facts about Ancient China through “The Magic Treehouse” series and a Chinese alphabet book. Today, students were challenged to engage in a common practice of the Chinese culture… chopsticks!

Some more of our AWESOME teachers!!

Today is School Nurse Day! We are fortunate to have a full time Nurse on staff and we truly appreciate her.

EWA Teacher ROCK!!

We may be biased, but we think that EWA has the BEST staff! This week is Teacher Appreciation Week so we will be recognizing them all week!

Ms. Haynes' and Mrs. Broadwell's Intro to STEM classes took a field trip to Edwards, Inc. to get a behind the scenes experience for crane operation, as well as fabrication and welding of major pipe systems and metal beams that are used in the construction of buildings and bridges. We were very impressed with the machinery and technology at Edwards, but mostly we were impressed with the hard working men and women that play a key role in the foundation of the engineering and structure of the places we work, shop and live out our lives. Thank you, Edwards, Inc for hosting us!!

Another EWA tradition is the Senior Breakfast sponsored by their parents. Thank you to everyone that helped make this a success!

Congratulations to the 46 Seniors that were inducted into the East Wake Academy Eagle Society today! These students have completed 13 years of education at EWA.

First Grade had their WORM-O-RAMA Thursday! Students “adopted” a real earthworm. Students named their worms, observed them while looking for each body part, and measured in cm to see how long they were! Then we set them free in our school-wide gardens. At the end of the day, students made an earthworm book and made their own dirt-in-a-cup with pudding, OREOS, and gummy worms (thanks to parent donations)! What a fun day! 🪱🪱🪱

EWA and PTA would like to thank It's a Zoo Life for coming out today and sharing your friends with us! There was a baby kangaroo, an albino kangaroo, goats, pig, giant turtle and chickens! The students that earned this award were very excited!

Mrs. Schwengels and Mrs. Vasquez’s class earth day activities
Fourth graders celebrated Earth Day by replanting our Bee Garden, researching and drawing honeybees, and enjoying honey inspired snacks. They also participated in a bee keeper presentation and honey tasting presented by Shannon Baxter of Baxter’s Bees! 🐝
