🎉 Congrats to Coach T for winning the Bright Ideas grant with his project "In The Zone"! The grant will fund heart rate monitors for PE classes, allowing students to see their heart rate in real time to exercise at the right intensity zones. This tech helps them push themselves safely, understand their bodies, and build healthy habits for life. 🏃♂️💪 #BrightIdeasGrant #InTheZone #PEfitness
Team EWA Eagles took 2nd place in the East Wake Education Foundation's inaugural Adult Spelling Bee @ the Bearded Bee Tuesday night. Bethany Broadwell, Rebekah Pace, Leigh Ann Lane, and Liz Hall competed against numerous other teams to raise money for a great cause. High School Principal Darrell Johnson, who is a board member for the foundation, served as one of the table judges. Everyone had a great time and lots of money was raised.
As you begin to plan for the holiday season, we ask that you consider being a part of our annual Giving Tree for EWA families. This is a K-12 event that will support families school wide. We want to make sure all of our students have a bright holiday and would love your support. In addition to purchasing items from our tree or purchasing stocking items, you are able to donate here so we can purchase items that do not get donated. We will be taking donations through MySchoolBucks from now until Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Giving Tree MySchoolBucks link.

Good morning EWA families.
We are so happy to see so many families re-enrolling to ensure their child keep their spot at EWA! Unfortunately there is a technical issue with the School Mint re-enrollment software at the moment. Once the issue is cleared up we will make a schoolwide announcement.

🎉 October is AAC Awareness Month! 🎉
AAC, or Augmentative and Alternative Communication, supports individuals with speech and language challenges by providing tools and strategies to communicate effectively. Whether it’s through picture boards, speech-generating devices, or communication apps, AAC opens doors to connection and self-expression for students.
As educators, we play a key role in fostering an inclusive environment where every student has a voice. As we end this month, let’s learn more about AAC, encourage its use, and celebrate every communication success in our classrooms! 💬🌟
I would like to say THANK YOU to EWA PAL for the teacher grant to purchase the new Communication Posters for the playground. These boards are for ALL of our children. Remember, communication looks different for everyone! #AACAwareness #EveryVoiceMatters #Inclusion

First graders in Ms. Pridgen’s class had a fun pumpkin activity! Ms. Hinkle read the story Pumpkin Jack and then carved a pumpkin to put into a jar so it can decay over the next few weeks. Students will track the process and write about it soon! With the help of high school students, our class worked on other pumpkin activities during Eagle Time that went with both of our reading and math standards!
